"Avatar 2" is a sci-fi film directed by James Cameron and starring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana. It will be released in North America on December 16, 2022. The film is the second in the series "Avatar". Synopsis: The plot of "Avatar 2" is carried over from the first five years later. Jack Sally, a former disabled soldier on Earth, is now the patriarch of the Na'vi tribe on the planet Pandora, and he and his beloved wife Natalie have a pair of lovely children together, living a dull and fulfilling life. Avatar 2 will take us back to Pandora this year... assuming there's not yet another delay to James Cameron's long-awaited sequel.

Originally aimed for a release in 2014, the sequel has kept fans waiting for almost a decade. However, returning Stephen Lang – whose character Quaritch died in the first movie, but we'll get to that – has been assuring fans that it'll be worth the extended wait.

"I think they'll be enchanted and fascinated. Look, there are people who are going to just adore this world," he told EW in August 2021, adding that he can't say anything about the sequel as they'll "cut my balls off if I do".

The sequel has been hit with various release date delays, but the latest was due to circumstances beyond its control. With post-production being affected by the ongoing global situation, the movie was pushed back to December 2022.
